The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Nine

Picard could not remember how long it had been since a Federation starship had been in the Vorlonn system, let alone the Vorlonn homeworld. Picard stared at the view-screen in wonder. He had never thought he would ever see the homeworld of this strange race first-hand.

Twenty Years Ago This Month: My Last Live Wrestling Show Review

Twenty years ago this month I attended my last live wrestling event, the World Association of Wrestling's October Outrage VII, held at The Talk in Norwich. Held during a time of great emotional upheaval for many, it was one of the events that led to me deciding to leave the company just a few weeks later.

This particular review was written after my departure, and with a great deal of hindsight.

You can read my review at https://twoshedsreview.blogspot.com/2019/03/re-post-waw-october-outrage-vii-live.html

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Eight

John Sheridan was a busy man. He was almost pulling his hair out as the preparations for the conference continued.

As he stood in the main chamber, his mind began to think of other things. It was in this chamber that President James Watt and Vice-President Thomas Leacock had been sworn in as the new leaders of the United Federation of Planets.

With their rise to power, a new wave of optimism had swept through the entire Federation. Watt had promised peace talks with the Romulan Empire, the end of the hard line Psi-Corp, and had spoken of peace, after centuries of fighting. All that had been taken away by one woman, backed by a tyrannical government from the other side of the galaxy.

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Seven

Something seemed different about the seat Magus was sitting in. It wasn't just the seat, but the location as well. Try as he might, he couldn't get comfortable in it.

Counselor Troi looked over, sensing his 'difficulties'.

"Is something wrong, Doctor?" she asked.

"No, my dear," Magus smiled. "Everything is fine. It's just this seat. I'm sure you find it comfortable, but there's something odd about it."

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Six

The preparations for the forthcoming mission to Babylon 5 were taking up most of Watt's time. Ever since he had escaped from Earth, most of his time had been taken up with affairs of the Free Federation. He had had little time to think of his family. However, he was sure that they were safe on Vulcan. It was as he strode through the corridors of the Pegasus station, datapad in hand, that he came across a woman he hoped he wouldn't have to see, but knew it was inevitable that he would.

(Not) The Thursday Rock Show, It's The Thursday Disco Show!

Now I know what you're thinking. You came here this week looking for some good old fashioned rock music, but this week's we're going to do something a little different as I look back at some of the other records I used to own, songs that wouldn't look out of place with a mirror ball and a paired of nice flared trousers. Yep, it's (Not) The Thursday Rock Show, it's The Thursday Disco Show!

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Five

As Magus left the observation lounge and walked into the corridor, Sinclair raced after him.

"What's all this about, Doctor?" he asked. "You said you had one final mission for me, before I went to Minbar, and yet you're not sending the Lohengrin to Babylon 5. Why?"

Magus turned to face Sinclair. He could tell from his face that he was hurt, hurt at not being able to see Babylon 5 before his reassignment.

"I can tell what you are thinking, Captain. You will see your mission, and you will play an equally important role in the forthcoming proceedings. Now, if you'll excuse me."

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Four

As Doctor Phineas Magus sat in his quarters on the Pegasus station, in orbit around the Time of Legends, many thoughts filled his mind. The population of the Free Federation was growing daily, but for all intents and purposes, the Free Federation was just a name. Although many planets, such as Altor, Vulcan, and Betazed had declared themselves independent from the Empire and allied themselves with the Free Federation, no constitution existed.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Three

“That should do it, Doctor,” said Scotty. “Energy levels in the cavourite drive are back to normal.”

“Thank you, Scotty,” said Magus.

The wizard then walked over to the main engineering console and accessed the computer. He soon found the program he was looking for, a program he had installed with the help and the blessings of the Time Lords.

Back in time: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-Two

Soon, Beckett was seated at the controls of the shuttle. Pendragon kneeled down beside him.

“There’s no need to talk me through the controls, Captain,” said Beckett. “I’ve been here before, remember?”

“Your leap into Captain Watt, you mean,” said Pendragon. “Very well, Doctor. Good luck.”

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Thirty-One

“Captain, we're being hailed,” Greenleaf reported.

Realizing that they could be destroyed, Pendragon was running out of options. Perhaps talking to them would delay the inevitable, but it was all he had at the moment.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Thirty

As Magus and Beckett entered the Bridge, they were greeted by a tense and unwanted scene. Chaos loomed all around them as the Scotsman came under the attack of an Imperial Star Destroyer.

The U.S.S. Flying Scotsman, in orbit TNC 65813, 2372.

The Kabreigny Object loomed large on the view-screen. It was all that Albert Calevicchi could think about. Since he had opened the letter from the legendary James Watt two years previously, he had waited for this moment. Now, with the galaxy in turmoil, carrying out his task would be even more difficult.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Twenty-Eight

Project Quantum Leap, Stallion's Gate, New Mexico, 2000

Once again the Jem'Hadar attacked Watt, and once again the battle was fierce. Using every piece of their fighting skill, they fought Watt tooth and nail, using fists and phaser. Those watching had to take cover several times, or they would have found themselves dead at the hands of 24th century weaponry. For one of the few times in his life, Gushie felt brave, and although phaser blasts rained down all around him, he continued to monitor the situation in the imaging chamber. The energy from the phaser blasts were sending the energy levels sky high, and with Beckett's task done, Gushie knew that he could leap any minute.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Twenty-Seven

Project Quantum Leap, Stallion's Gate, New Mexico, 2000

With the defense shield having been taken out with one shot, Watt knew he had to do something to help. After all, he was one of the most powerful people on the planet. He could inflict some damage on the Imperial ships. After Ziggy let him out of the complex, he began to fly to the surface.

The first thing he saw surprised him. He soon saw Magus standing atop the mountain, using his vast power to battle the two Imperial ships. Watt watched as Magus seemed to be getting the upper hand in this battle. While watching this battle he failed to notice several Jem'Hadar warriors beam down behind him. He soon discovered they were there when a phaser blast hit him in the back, sending him falling face-first to the ground.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Twenty-Six

 New York City, 1967

It was like a dream come true. The last time Daniel Reid had been in New York City was when he was a small boy, having been taken there on holiday by his parents. Now he was there again, thirty-three years in the past, and he wasn't able to touch anything.

Reid found himself standing outside an old blues club on 52nd Street, listening to someone screech away to a lone piano tune. Reid didn't recognize the singer, but he recognized the piano player.

Stallion's Gate, New Mexico, 2000

They were there. As the Anglo-Force sky-jet flew over Stallion's Gate, Reid looked down at the place that had been his home for two years. When Sam Beckett had first put forward the idea of housing Project Quantum Leap inside a mountain, Reid laughed at the idea. In hindsight, he had found it to be the perfect choice.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Twenty-Four

Atlantic Ocean, 2000

It was something of a change for James Watt to fly an aircraft. He hadn't done so since the infamous crash that had given him his powers, and now that he was behind the controls of a plane again, he remembered how good it was.

In the next compartment sat Daniel Reid and Donna Alessi. Dr. Alessi was amazed by what she saw.

Back in Time: Civil War II Chapter Twenty-Three

British airspace, 2000

The tactical officer aboard the Imperial transport did not look happy.

"My readings show this to be the Earth year 2000, but I'm not worried about that! All power readings are dangerously low! We're going to have to crash-land!"

"Where are we?" Thrawn shouted above the noise.

"The nation-state known as Great Britain. Surrey to be precise."

"The Anglo-Force mansion was in Surrey," said Thrawn. "Any sign of it on the sensors?"

"The sensors aren't working! I can't tell!"

Then, it hit them. The pilot could do no more with the damaged transport. Using all of his piloting skills, he put down in a deserted field, in what appeared to be the middle of nowhere.

An Unprecedented Press Conference: President Trump and Darth Vader

As many of you know I've recently been collaborating with a new writing partner, a guy called A.I. We've been brainstorming for a few months now, bouncing ideas off each other, and coming up with quite a few good ones. In fact, he's the guy who co-wrote the Deep Purple and Hulk Hogan/Metallica stories a few months ago.

Now I think it's time to share our latest effort with you, and I thought that seeing as President Trump is portraying himself as the ultimate peace maker, as the guy who can stop all wars, there's one particular war that he should try his hand at stopping.....
