The Briscoe Brothers: Sandy Fork Originals - DVD Review

They're a pair of good old fashioned redneck boys who like nothing more than kicking ass and winning titles, and that's something they've been doing in Ring of Honor for over a decade now.

Now ROH have paid tribute to "dem boys" once more with another DVD compilation in the form of The Briscoe Brothers: Sandy Fork Originals.

Looking Back At The Wrestling Channel's Tribute To Doug Williams

He’s the current TNA X Division Champion, and a former World Tag-Team Champion, but long before he ventured into the Impact Zone Doug Williams was recognised as Britain’s best wrestler, and the now defunct Wrestling Channel paid tribute to the man by giving him his own four hour Supercard Sunday slot, featuring matches from the Frontier Wrestling Alliance, Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Pro Wrestling NOAH European Navigation '08 Night Two - DVD Review

A few weeks ago I had the chance to review the British debut of Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH, with their European Navigation ‘08 DVD. It was a cracking DVD, but the tour didn’t end there. The following night the NOAH crew, along with some British talent, travelled to Faringdon in Oxfordshire for European Navigation ‘08 Night Two. This show had a slightly different theme, NOAH versus The World. Commentary on this DVD was handled by “The Twisted Genius” Dean Ayass and “Irish” Stu Allen.

Pro Wrestling NOAH European Navigation 2008 Night Two - CPC Movies DVD Review

A few weeks ago I had the chance to review the DVD release of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s British debut, European Navigation, which was held at the Coventry Skydome in June 2008. It was a cracking show, one of the best wrestling DVDs I’ve seen this year.

In June 2008 top Japanese wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH, in association with Mark Sloan’s A-Merchandise, came to British shores for the first time in their history, bringing along such stars as the late, great Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi and Naomichi Marufuji. Along with home-grown talent such as Doug Williams, Nigel McGuinness and Martin Stone, they packed the Coventry Skydome for European Navigation 2008, released a few months later on DVD.

Pro Wrestling NOAH Autumn Navigation 2006 - DVD Review

We’re going to stick with the Pro Wrestling NOAH theme for this review, but this time we’re going right into their backyard, with a look at Autumn Navigation 2006, held on 29th October at the Nippon Budokan. This is the first full NOAH show I’ve seen since Navigation With Breeze was broadcast on The Wrestling Channel back in 2004, and this is also the first NOAH show I’ve seen with English commentary, provided by Ken Hiriyama and Wally Yamaguchi, so at least I’ll know who all the wrestlers are!
