He’s the current TNA X Division Champion, and a former World Tag-Team Champion, but long before he ventured into the Impact Zone Doug Williams was recognised as Britain’s best wrestler, and the now defunct Wrestling Channel paid tribute to the man by giving him his own four hour Supercard Sunday slot, featuring matches from the Frontier Wrestling Alliance, Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling NOAH.

A few weeks ago I had the chance to review the British debut of Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH, with their European Navigation ‘08 DVD. It was a cracking DVD, but the tour didn’t end there. The following night the NOAH crew, along with some British talent, travelled to Faringdon in Oxfordshire for European Navigation ‘08 Night Two. This show had a slightly different theme, NOAH versus The World. Commentary on this DVD was handled by “The Twisted Genius” Dean Ayass and “Irish” Stu Allen.

King of Harts: The Owen Hart Collection - DVD Review

Following on from my review of WWF Over The Edge 1999, the event that sadly took away one of the world’s greatest wrestling talents in Owen Hart, I’m going to look at the positive side of his wrestling career with a review of a compilation that has been doing the tape trading rounds. Entitled King of Harts: The Owen Hart Collection, and put together by J&M Productions of Pro Wrestling Torrents fame, this compilation contains matches from Stampede, New Japan, WCW, and, of course, the WWF.

Pro Wrestling NOAH First Navigation 2007 - DVD Review

This edition of The Two Sheds Review sees us making a return to Japan, to take a look at the DVD release of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s first show of 2007, First Navigation, headlined by Mitsuhara Misawa defending the GHC Heavyweight title against Takeshi Morishima, and available to buy online via A-Merchandise. Commentary, in English, for this one is handled by Ken Hiriyama and Wally Yamaguchi.

Pro Wrestling NOAH Autumn Navigation 2006 - DVD Review

We’re going to stick with the Pro Wrestling NOAH theme for this review, but this time we’re going right into their backyard, with a look at Autumn Navigation 2006, held on 29^th October at the Nippon Budokan. This is the first full NOAH show I’ve seen since Navigation With Breeze was broadcast on The Wrestling Channel back in 2004, and this is also the first NOAH show I’ve seen with English commentary, provided by Ken Hiriyama and Wally Yamaguchi, so at least I’ll know who all the wrestlers are!

But instead of looking at their recent history, we’re going to look back to 1975, and the DVD release AJPW G+ Classics - Rhodes v Race, featuring such legendary stars as Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Abdullah the Butcher, Giant Baba and Dory Funk Jr.

IWA Japan King of the Death Match 1995 - DVD Review

It’s regarded around the world as the best deathmatch tournament in the history of professional wrestling. Mick Foley considers it one of the defining moments in his long and storied career. It’s the International Wrestling Association of Japan’s Kawasaki Dream, aka The King of the Deathmatch tournament, held at the Kawasaki Baseball Stadium in August 1995. So is it as good as everyone says it is? This is what this writer wants to find out.

GAEA Yokohama Mega Ride - DVD Review

For me one of the highlights of The Wrestling Channel in it’s early days was the coverage of the Japanese all woman’s promotion GAEA. It was the first all woman’s promotion I’d ever seen, and the action blew me away. Why is why for this review we’re travelling back four years to take a look at GAEA’s Yokohama Mega Ride show, held in October 2002.
