I'm Jumping on the Bandwagon

Some of you may have heard that there's a film about professional wrestling coming out soon. "Fighting With My Family" tells the story of WWE superstar Paige and her family, the Knights, a family I had a close association with a few years ago when I worked for the World Association of Wrestling. Well, I say worked, I was more of a volunteer.

Well, a few years ago I decided to remove all WAW-related content because of all of the s**t I was getting. (Cheap plug: read my reasons by clicking on this link!) As I was nearing my 40th birthday I really was pi**ed off at the treatment I was getting from them and their associates.

But despite cutting my ties with them and their associates it's been quite difficult to ignore them, especially with the youngest of their clan carving out a successful career for herself with the world's largest wrestling company.

So, with all the hype surrounding the film, as well as the hype surrounding their upcoming Fightmare 3 show at Norwich City's Carrow Road football stadium, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon.

From Pet Shop to Pie Shop

I have to admit I'm feeling a bit depressed today. Seeing these photos on Facebook were an untimely reminder of just how things have gone these past few months or so.

The Buzzword for 2018 is.....Loss

If you're wondering what the buzzword for 2018 is, then for me it's loss.

A Natural vs. an Unnatural End

I have to admit I've been feeling a bit odd lately. You see, my part-time job at QD here in Cromer ended last Saturday. I thought I would feel upset, but in truth I haven't. In fact I've felt the complete opposite.

We've Made The News Part Two

Maybe this will stop people asking me when the pet shop is re-opening.

The Fight Goes On

I have to say that I've certainly experienced a roller coaster of emotions these past few days. From the grief of losing my job to the frustration and sheer anger with a person I thought of as a friend, through to the disappointment at finding myself in the same boat I tried for so hard and for so long to get out of.

Here's a Stat For You

In the eight weeks before the shop went under I applied for tons of jobs through Indeed. I didn't keep a written record because I was still employed at the time and didn't need to keep one for the DWP.

It's Over

So I was greeted with this when I turned up for work today.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic.

I'm a Man! I Do Man Things!

When I was much younger I was often teased about my name, mainly because they thought that Julian was a girl's name.

But despite my christian name's somewhat noble origins, there are still some people who think I'm actually a woman.

I'd Really Love To Go To Town On Someone

There's a part of me that would really like to go to town on someone, but it probably wouldn't do any good. After all, she's kicked me off the page I used to help her run and blocked me on Facebook. She's probably blocked my phone as well.

Maybe I'll rant and rave and tell all when that shop door is closed and locked for the final time.

So I'm Looking For A Job Again.....

It was about this time two years ago that someone saw my posts about being unemployed and offered me a job. Sadly circumstances beyond my control mean that this job is coming to an end sooner or later.

Which is why I'm putting this post here, because having found a job through social media once there's a chance it can happen again.

"Are You Closing?"

You're probably wondering what this photo is all about. It's simple. Two weeks ago the "to let" sign went up at Claws 'N' Paws, the place where I've worked for the past two years.

Since then I've been asked countless times "are you closing?"

Julian's Alternative Eurovision

Want an alternative to the Eurovision Song Contest? Here's a few songs from around Europe, together with a token Aussie act. No Brits though. We are leaving the EU after all!

When Death Actually Means Something

There’s an unwritten law in the world of fantasy and science fiction these days, that if a character dies he or she will inevitably come back form the dead.

They’ve all done it, from Superman to the Bucky Barnes to Gwen Stacy to Jon Snow to Vince McMahon. I’ve lost count of the number of times this has happened. Which is why the death of Professor Martin Stein in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow television series was surprising, especially considering the show’s time travel premise.

A Little Story For You

A little story for you.

I watched these buskers while sitting outside The Two Lifeboats in Sheringham at lunchtime. As they played the first few bars of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" a man walked past with his Westie.

Rest in Peace Snowy

The end of an era. After 17 years and 1 month Snowy has passed away. Hopefully he's back with his old friends now.

Thanks for everything. Rest in peace old friend.

It Would Have Annoyed Me a Couple of Years Ago.....

You know, a couple of years ago, if I'd heard that Radio Norfolk (or any other local media for that matter) had done a piece on professional wrestling I'd be quite miffed, what with me being Britain's longest-running wrestling blogger and all that.

Two Sheds Wrestling: The April Fool's Joke That Never Was

Today is April 1st, and by now you’ve probably seen dozens and dozens of April Fools jokes, some of which may have genuinely fooled you, others which you probably saw through as soon as you saw them.

But as today’s is the prankster’s equivalent of Christmas I thought I would share with you an idea I had, and given the nature of the joke and the business I used to work in there would have probably been quite a few people who actually believed me.

For years I toyed with the idea on making a “massive announcement” on my blog, on social media, and on that doyen of professional wrestling knowledge the UK Fan Forum, the announcement being that I was going to start my own wrestling promotion, Two Sheds Wrestling, or 2SW for short.
