The Thursday Rock Show: Fare Thee Well David Coverdale

This week's edition of The Thursday Rock Show sees us paying tribute to one of the greatest singers in rock history, a man whose career spans more than fifty years and who's delivered bangers for Deep Purple, in his solo career, and for his band Whitesnake. It's none other than David Coverdale, who recently announced his retirement from the music business.

The Quest Begins: Civil War II Chapter Sixty-One

On the planet below the sound of pounding hooves grew nearer and nearer. Try as they might, the quartet of fugitives could not escape. The stranger seemed to move ever quicker, but he kept stopping to help his companions. Soon they were surrounded by mounted gorillas. Urko looked scornfully down at them.

The Quest Begins: Civil War II Chapter Sixty

Cornelius gazed up at the strange human in the cage.

"We cannot let Urko destroy him!" said Zeera joining him.

"I know. He seems to show more intelligence than most humans. Perhaps he may escape! Come Zeera. We must leave."

The two apes left the room. Soon the laboratory was dark.

The Quest Begins: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Nine

The human awoke. He was in a crude cage. The cage was surrounded by hairy, anthropoid shapes. Strangely, he could understand them. The place seemed familiar.

"Bells theorem!" he thought, and then wondered why.

One of the ape creatures appeared to be in a position of authority. The human recognised the creature as an orang-utan, but something troubled him. Apes should not wear clothes, nor should they be able to talk!

The Quest Begins: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Eight

Magus and Drathro strode through the corridors of the Pegasus station. Drathro was having trouble keeping up with the old wizard despite his greater leg length. Somewhere ahead were Magus' companions and his robot butler, Belverdere.

The Quest Begins: Civil War II Prologue

The sight was familiar to James Watt. Garbed in his familiar red and black uniform, he flew high over the streets of London. Although he was born and raised in Cromer, London was his home, where he lived, the city he protected. The setting was right, yet it was wrong. He did not remember how he came to be here.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Seven

Slowly, Culluh walked into Palpatine's throne room at the peak of Mount Tantiss. As he stood before the Emperor he bowed his head low. Palpatine did not know whether this was in shame or out of respect.

Alliances: Civil War Chapter Fifty-Six

With the officers of Voyager and the Galactica now working very closely, Galactica pilot Lieutenant Starbuck took the opportunity to do a bit of showing off to Voyager's best pilot, Tom Paris.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Five

Soon, Commander Adama and his first officer, Colonel Tigh, beamed aboard the Voyager. Janeway and Chakotay gave them a guided tour of the vessel, and the two Galactica officers were most impressed by Federation technology. Soon, they were in the Mess Hall, enjoying one of Neelix's culinary creations.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Four

The main hangar deck of the Pegasus station was not normally used for meetings or briefings, but on this day it was. The senior officers of all the ships chosen by Spock to travel to the Delta Quadrant were there, standing before the Free Federation president.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Three

As Kathryn Janeway sat in the command chair of the U.S.S. Voyager, her thoughts were upon their upcoming 'mission'. What should they do once they reach Wayland? They were but one ship, and there was probably an entire armada there, Kazon, Imperial, and lord knows who else was there.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-Two

As the Death Star maintained its orbit of the planet Wayland, more and more ships began to join it in orbit. Vader watched the main hangar bay as smaller shuttles began to arrive.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty-One

As transport vessel Tantive IV neared Wayland, its V.I.P. passenger looked out at the planet from the observation lounge. As the official representative of the planet Alderaan, Princess Leia Organa knew that this meeting was going to be a historic one, but she hoped it would not be for the reasons that the Emperor intended.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Fifty

As Spock sat in his office aboard the Pegasus station, fatigue began to hit him. He had gone almost thirty-six hours without sleep, and it was beginning to show. It was even more evident to Duncan MacCleod, who had spent the entire day with him on official business.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Nine

As Vader stood in the main control room of the Death Star, he stared out of the main viewport, towards the planet Wayland. He had been here only once before, and the Emperor only chose to let other high-ranking Imperial officials here on very special occasions. Today was one of those occasions, as Palpatine sought to display his most powerful weapon before the cosmos, and those who would join his Empire.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Eight

As Darkmagus strode through the corridors of the Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera, his thoughts were now on the incredible power that was now his. In all the entire, known, explored galaxy, he was now a "second-in-command," second only to Palpatine. Yet he craved for even more power, the power to shape people's lives for his own ends and needs.

Alliances: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Seven

With the Free Federation now an official organization in the eyes of most galactic organizations, the Council of the Time of Legends held one of their infrequent meetings. All of the chosen members were present, representing the elves, dwarves, hobbits, the gods of Asgard, the gods of Olympus, and many others. For the first time, a Vulcan was present at the proceedings. As newly installed leader of the Free Federation, Spock felt a need to attend this meeting. It was his thinking that the inhabitants of the Time would play a pivotal role in the forthcoming events.

Health Update: It's Been a While!

Hello people! It’s been a while since I posted one of these health updates for you. The reason I haven’t posted anything is simply because I haven’t had anything to post, but for those of you who don’t know what’s been happening over the past couple of years or so here’s a brief rundown of what went on.

Just over two years ago a misdiagnosis from my GP led to me being hospitalized with pneumonia. I underwent a series of procedures and major surgery over two stays, totalling four weeks in total, to remove the fluid from my right lung and to repair my damaged diaphragm. The surgery left me with constant chronic pain in my right-hand side which affected my neck, shoulders, chest, ribs, back and hip. The chap who performed the operation said this was because I had a ton of deep-lying scar tissue which interacted with nerve endings to cause this pain.

Julian's Birthday Fundraiser for the RNLI

For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to RNLI. I've chosen this charity because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope that you'll consider contributing as a way of celebrating with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I've included information about RNLI below.

The RNLI is a registered charity that saves lives at sea. It provides, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service to 100 miles out from the coast of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland and a beach lifeguard service on over 200 beaches in England. The RNLI continues to rely on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income.

The Battle For Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Six

Magus could no longer concentrate. It was as if something on the Gorgon, he could not tell what, had interrupted the flow of things. Four squadrons of TIE fighters launched from the Gorgon's bays upon arrival. Their confidence ebbing away, the Free Federation forces pulled back. It was as if they were tired, fatigued in some way. They had just defeated a powerful enemy. Could they do so again?

The Battle For Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Five

As the inhabitants of the Mars colony looked skyward, wondering what would happen to their homes, homes that were already in danger under the new oppressive regime, they soon got the answers to their questions. First they could see only one craft, much more powerful than their fighter counterparts, and capable of causing untold destruction. But several more TIE bombers soon followed. The people of Mars were about to pay for their rebellion.

The Battle For Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Four

Londo stood on the observation deck, staring out at the stars. He watched as the beat-up looking Oberth-class vessel neared the station. He smiled when he saw the name of the ship: U.S.S. Flying Scotsman. He would soon be reunited with his old friend.

The Battle For Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Three

With the exact coordinates input into the computer, Daala put her plan into operation. She ordered the weapons armed before they went to warp.

The crew of the Alexander had no idea what was happening as the Gorgon suddenly appeared from out of nowhere before them.

The Battle For Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty-Two

As Watt considered his options, which were few and far between, he failed to notice the image on the screen, the image of another Federation starship coming out of warp.

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty-One

As the Enterprise entered the Minbar system, Worf began his scans.

"One Minbari warship is approaching us," he reported. "Their gun ports are open."

"Do not arm our weapons, Mister Worf," Picard ordered. "Take us to within one thousand kilometers of the ship."

The Battle for Babylon 5: Civil War II Chapter Forty

As Watt entered the briefing room of the Saratoga, he found a sight he hadn't seen in years, not since he first considered a career as a Starfleet pilot. Five young humans, several elves, a Traxxon, and a Vulcan, seated, facing a viewer, with their commanding officer standing before them. As soon as Watt seated himself, Colonel McQueen began his briefing.
