The Quest Begins: Civil War II Prologue

The sight was familiar to James Watt. Garbed in his familiar red and black uniform, he flew high over the streets of London. Although he was born and raised in Cromer, London was his home, where he lived, the city he protected. The setting was right, yet it was wrong. He did not remember how he came to be here.

The last thing he remembered was a ship... a spaceship... and an explosion. Things then went blank.

A short distance away, in the sky with him, he saw a familiar face. He thought it strange that this man should be in the sky with him. As he flew closer, he recognised the man. It was his father.

But how could this be? He knew his father had died over three hundred years previously. Could it have happened? Could someone have finally done what no one else could have?

As he approached his father, the happiness grew inside him. Father and son soon embraced.

"Is this where I think it is?" Watt asked. "Am I dead?"

"No," his father replied. "You're not dead. You're at that point between life and death."

"Am I dying?"

"No. Now is not your time. You still have much to accomplish on the other side. You still have many people to help."

The darkness began to return. Everything began to change, to fade away, including his father.

"You must go now, son! You must return!"

"But Mum, and Katrina, and Peter! I want to see them!"

His father placed his hands on his son's shoulders.

"You will see them soon, my son."

The image of his father was now very dim. He was almost completely gone.

"Go now, son."

Watt's eyes began to moisten as his father vanished before him. Even with all of his power, his so-called immortality, there was nothing he could do.

Then his thoughts began to change. He began to feel dizzy. Soon, he was unconscious...
