"You have failed, Maje Culluh," Palpatine said. "For that I should kill you where you stand."
"I beg of you, your highness, please spare my life. We did not know there was another Battlestar still operational!"
"That is why I am sparing your life, Maje Culluh. The addition of the Battlestar Pegasus into the equation changed things. However, I do still have a task for you."
"Anything, your highness."
"The Federation starship, Voyager. It is supposed to be the most advanced starship Starfleet ever built. From what we know of it, it is even more advanced than some Imperial vessels. I want it, and you will get it for me!"
"Yes, your highness," Culluh said, bowing low.
A few seconds later Imperial guards entered to escort Culluh away. The Kazon knew he was lucky. Palpatine normally didn't give anyone a second chance.
The main mess hall of the Galactica was crowded, as friendships between those of the two Battlestars were renewed, and new friendships were formed with those of Voyager.
As Adama stood, with Janeway and Cain beside him, he called for silence.
"May I have your attention please."
The attention of everyone in the room was focused on Adama.
"Today is an historic day for the people of the Galactica fleet. Not only have we found old friends, but we have gained new friends and allies. We all have a common goal, and now, a common enemy. That is why I am pleased to announce that from this day forth, the crews of the Battlestar Galactica, the Battlestar Pegasus, and the U.S.S. Voyager will now work together as one!"
The crowd roared their approval. A new alliance had just been born.
Engineering was almost deserted as B'Elanna Torres sat at her station, inputting data into the ship's computer. Those junior officers on duty wondered why B'Elanna was not at the reception. Her reasons for not attending were simple. Her thoughts were not on celebrations, but on finding a way home.
The screen in front of her showed data from the battle with the Imperial forces, most notably, the exact point they just appeared out of nowhere. She had studied the sensor data gained from the Imperial engines, from their technology that allowed them to travel great distances in a matter of seconds. It intrigued her. She had never seen anything like it before. She began to wonder, to put all the computations through the computer. Perhaps she had now found a way of helping Voyager back home. Perhaps the Empire could help them.
