Download Review: Wrestlerock: New Era, New Rules
A few years ago I had my first taste of Australian wrestling in the form of the Wrestlerock promotion, and I liked what I saw. The company was like a breath of fresh air. They were rugged, a little rough around the edges. They weren't PG, or even PC for that matter, and they were damn proud of that.
But having enjoyed a ton of great matches featuring the likes of Krackerjak, Jag Hartley Jackson, Slex, Mad Dog and the rest of those crazy b*****ds it came to an end, and I was quite saddened when I heard that Wrestlerock were closing their doors.
But guess what, kiddies! They're back! Those mental Aussies made their triumphant return to their old stomping ground last February at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne. Wrestlerock were back, and for them it was a New Era, New Rules.

DVD Review: WWE Live in the UK November 2014 Part 1 - Monday Night Raw
With WWE embarking on their annual post-Wrestlemania trip to my side of the pond there's no better time to look at the last time they were here as we take a look at the DVD release of WWE Live in the UK November 2014.
The last time we took a look at the Live in the UK series we broke it down into two parts, which is what we're going to do this time around as we take a look at disc one's content, Monday Night Raw.

DVD Review: Kevin Steen: Hell Rising
It was one of the most controversial DVD releases in Ring of Honor history. In fact it was so controversial that it was withdrawn from sale shortly after it was released. But with the current success of it's subject matter in pastures new it's now back on sale, apparently for a very limited time. The DVD in question is Kevin Steen: Hell Rising.

Film Review: Tapped Out
Over the past few decades there have been countless films telling the stories of sporting underdogs triumphing against all the odds, whether they be about football, baseball, or more notably boxing, and because of it's ever-increasing popularity there have been quite a few films focusing on mixed martial arts.

TV Review: WWE Fastlane
It was an event that met with a great deal of apathy in it's run-up, but did it fulfil the somewhat low expectations that had been placed on it? That was what I was hoping to find out by watching WWE's latest pay per view offering, Fastlane, shown in the early hours of this past Monday morning on Sky One and Sky Sports here in Britain.

It was twenty years ago today.....
I'd like to take you back to the late 1994. Back then I was a different kind of person. I'd just turned 23, but I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life. I'd worked in local hotels and factories, but if truth be known I never really enjoyed those jobs, and I'd been laid off from my most recent one because I was suffering from a long-term Achilles tendon injury, and even though I'd applied for dozens and dozens of jobs when I was given the all clear it seemed as if nobody wanted to take me on. In fact it even got to the point where I considered joining the army, just so I could earn a living and say that I had a job.

DVD Review: True Giants
They are the men who were not only metaphorically larger than life but physically larger than many of their opponents, the big men who became legends in the world of professional wrestling. Now WWE have dipped into their vast video archive to pay tribute to these men, from Gorilla Monsoon and Andre the Giant right up to their modern counterparts Mark Henry and the Big Show, they're all here in the three DVD set True Giants.

Farewell.....for a couple of weeks anyway! (but not from this blog!)
I wrote the following for the blog I run for the RNLI Henry Blogg
Museum here in Cromer, commenting on the end of my CWP placement. But as
that blog is only aimed at museum volunteers I thought that, like my
piece about my Uncle Ted, it would be a good idea to post it here as
well. Enjoy!
As I write this it's Friday afternoon, and I'm sitting in the Education Room, overlooking Cromer Beach and the North Sea. There's a few people milling around down below, but not many because of the cold weather.
Electricians carrying out the building's annual safety checks are coming through the room at various intervals. There's lots of banging and the smell of paint from upstairs as the cafe undergoes a makeover, and behind me, Henry Blogg is lying on a table, with two versions of his dog Monte watching over him.
But my recently have been turning to my impending, albeit temporary departure from the museum, with my CWP work placement coming to an end on Monday, January 19th.
