It’s the first WWE pay-per-view of the year, where the road to Wrestlemania begins as thirty men compete against each other with a main event slot at the biggest show of the year waits. Oh, and there’s also a couple of title matches as well. It’s this year’s version of the Royal Rumble, held in the Mecca that is Madison Square Garden, and shown live here in Britain on Sky Box Office.

Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars - Book Review
You know, if it wasn’t for a toy company, this review would never have been written. It’s a long story, but the gist of it is this. After DC Comics launched their successful range of action figures, Marvel followed suit. But the toy company wanted their figures to have a common theme as it were, and suggested that Marvel launch a comic that would help sell their new line. And thus Secret Wars was born.Thursday, January 24, 2008

101 Knockouts In 101 Minutes - DVD Review
So I was in HMV in Norwich during my lunch break, browsing through the sports section, wondering why there never seems to be as many professional boxing DVDs as there are wrestling or mixed martial arts DVDs. Then, I saw it. For under a fiver, 101 Greatest Knockouts In 101 Minutes. This should certainly be interesting.Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Highlander: The Source - DVD Review
To say that I’m a Highlander mark would be an understatement. Since the first time I saw the original film in 1986 with it’s great soundtrack by Queen, I’ve been hooked, going through all the films and TV series, and even watching the awful Highlander II a couple of times. So when I heard that a new film, The Source, was being released on DVD, I rushed down to my local Woolworths first thing on Monday morning and got a copy.Friday, January 11, 2008

It’s all in this review of TNA’s Final Resolution, shown on a three day delay here in Britain on Bravo 2. As usual, our hosts for the evening are the professor himself, Mike Tenay, and the man of a thousand wardrobe catastrophes, Don West.

Ritchie Blackmore: Black Knight - Book Review
3When people ask me who my favourite guitarist is, they’re surprised when I don’t mention the likes of Hendrix, Page and Clapton. They’re surprised when I mention the name of Ritchie Blackmore.

Ballpark Brawl III: Canadian Carnage - DVD Review
If you take a look back at my recent American wrestling reviews, you’ll see that, with the exception of an XPW DVD review, I’ve mainly reviewed WWE and TNA pay-per-views. Well, that’s about to change, as in this edition we’re going to take a look at the DVD release of Ballpark Brawl III: Canadian Carnage, held in Buffalo, New York, in August 2004, and featuring stars as Jim Neidhart, Abyss, Ron Killings, Petey Williams and Teddy Hart.Tuesday, January 01, 2008
UFC 79: Nemesis on Bravo - TV Review
It’s the fight mixed martial arts fans have been waiting years for. Lidell v Silva. Chuck v Wanderlei. The battle of the two best light-heavyweight fighters in the world right now. Oh, and there’s also a fight between a couple of welterweights as well. So it’s time for my review of UFC 79: Nemesis, shown on a twenty-four hour delay here in Britain on Bravo. As usual, our hosts for the evening are Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.
